Top Hat Pancakes With Scrambled Eggs Recipe

I put this recipe on my cooking blog but I liked it so much I thought I'd post it here as well since I made these pancakes instead of starting the mountain of work I have to have done by next Thursday and cooking is another form of creativity. Dang, that's a long sentence.

Top Hat Pancakes With Scrambled Eggs Recipe

Use a cookie cutter to cut a hole in precooked sausage patties.

Top Hat Pancakes With Scrambled Eggs Recipe

Pour raw scrambled egg in the center of sausage. Let the egg cook until nearly done.

Top Hat Pancakes With Scrambled Eggs Recipe

Pour pancake batter over the top; I used Bisquick. Flip when the bubbles form in the surface and allow the pancake to finish cooking.

In The Dark Altered Book

In The Dark Altered Book

Our newest art class assignment is to alter a book; I found this novel at the library for 50 cents. The images are antique illustrations that I put through illustrator and printed on book pages. I love the lady dressed as a bat and the serpent skeleton is delightfully creepy.

Crazy Bird Attacks Reflection

Umm, OK...

end is near sign

It's a good thing I don't live in Elk River since apparently the end is near. I checked their web site and they are giving away some pretty nice prizes; that 3D TV would come in handy to watch the end of news coverage or perhaps find out who will be the next celebrity apprentice (time permitting).

Put A Bird On It Crayon Rubbing Picture

texture rubbing bird

My newest studio arts assignment was to do a picture made from rubbing a crayon or pencil over a textured surface. It's surprising hard to do without any guide lines and on uneven surfaces.

The wings are a metal holder that I keep silverware in–the top of the wings is the refrigerator door–the bird body is the top of a candy box–the back portions are a wood desk–the clockwork steam punk chest has gear work–the square tail feathers are from an antique mason jar–the lower tail feathers are garland.

Gator Party

Another party animal. I wanted to have the alligator play Pin The Tail On The Poodle but I knew my family would be rather irate with me since our dogs are half poodle and we love them dearly.

Stampede Cake

black forest cherry cake sliding away

A while back I made a 5 layer black forest cherry cake with too much whipped cream. The cake kept wanting to slide away so my solution was to stab it with chop sticks; a tradition was born.

This version managed to not slide out of the refrigerator but the cherries kept wanting to stampede so I corralled them with toothpicks.
