Charcoal Drawing of A Voodoo Doll

charcoal drawing of a voodoo dollI got this silly little voodoo doll in New Orleans; I liked his startled expression. I bought him on a road trip I took with my daughters several years ago. We had a great time in the French Quarter and the food there was amazing.
We were hot and scruffy so we ended up in a very nice restaurant. They were very gracious even though we were the only customers carrying bags of tourist tzatchkes. I kept calling my poor husband back in Minnesota to let him know what the next course was. By the time we were done eating he was ready to catch a plane and join us.

  3. Great charcoal drawing! Just don't poke it with a pin!

  4. realy like the way you placed him on the page - and I agree, his expression is terrific. Lived in New Orleans for many years...carried away their philosophy that it's time to eat when food is ready (hmmmm, that could explain the extra pounds?) :)

  5. Great charcoal work. From his expression, I think someone already poked him with a pin.

  6. I've never tried charcoal before, but looking at this one, I'd really want to try that someday too. This is an adorable doll, I've been to New Orleans once, and they really do sell a lot of these stuff there :D
