Free Recycled Book Art Journal Giveaway - the drawing is over

9/10 The drawing is over. I printed the comments and had a neighbor draw a name. I was a little late posting this since we had coffee and cookies.

The lucky winner is Melissa Sabin.

I got some new books in the mail today, 9/5/09 so I'd thought I'd share these gems.

I am a huge fan of the books at bookjournals.com and the owner has graciously offered to let me give away an art journal.

They are made from recycled books, have some of the original pages scattered throughout and contain about 75 sheets of acid free paper.

I had written about the books previously if you'd like to see the other ones I purchased.

If you'd like to have a chance to win your choice of one of these journals (not the ones I previously purchased) please visit bookjournals.com, look over his selection, and post a comment on my blog. I'll choose a winner at random on September 10th at 9:00 pm central time. Good luck!

  3. I've just bought two but I wouldn't mind having one more; I just love the memories they bring back and I have already used some blank pages of old second-hand books to draw on. That's a good way to keep old books alive!
Thanks for letting me know about them.

  7. Howdy!

I found your blog through EDM, and then went to the bookjournals site after admiring your puchases. I've been drooling ever since and contemplating what journal would be best. Who could resist the Tawny Scrawny Lion?! And I've enjoyed browsing your blog as well. Your cabbage is my favorite. Thanks much, Laura O.

  8. I think it is just marvelous that there are giveaways, drawings, opportunities to have something special that we might not otherwise get to own! I would love to partcipate in the drawing. My first choice would be the book on "Spelling." A second one would be the "Sunset Cook Book." I remember that one well. All the journals are unique and delightful to view. Thanks for posting this and referring us to the site.

  9. Great idea! Very cool site. Consider me entered, although the Art Stories one above is probably my favorite. Love that typography and what a perfect title for an art journal!

  10. I had done some altered books, but this is such a neat idea. I love a lot of the covers but if I were to pick one it would have to be the "Text books of Art Education" by The Prang Educational Company. Thanks for sharing this site with us.
